Jay Steinfeld, Blinds.com – Jay is the founder and CEO of Blinds.com, the industry leader in online window covering sales that was acquired by The Home Depot in 2014. Jay is a passionate advocate for amazing (and profitable) company culture. As founder and CEO of Blinds.com, Jay was an early mover in e-Commerce, in 1993 bootstrapping his website built in his garage into the world’s #1 online window covering store. In January, 2014, Blinds.com was acquired by The Home Depot. Jay is still active as CEO, driving and integrating the Blinds.com platform into Home Depot’s interconnected retail strategy.
President – Rotary Club of Houston 2017-18. Attorney at Law – The Olsen Law Firm P.C. Richard “Rick” Olsen is the founder and principal of The Olsen Law Firm, P.C. Mr. Olsen established a national practice with an emphasis on commercial litigation and business-related matters. He has successfully represented individual and corporate clients before federal and state courts, jury and non-jury trials, along with multiple arbitration, mediation, and settlement negotiations. Prior to forming his own firm, Mr. Olsen served in the litigation section of a prominent Houston law firm. During his employment, the firm was consistently recognized by a national publication as a “Go-to-Law Firm” for litigation matters. Mr. Olsen represented several Fortune companies in various facets of the law, including the defense of class action certification, corporate and executive liability, personal injury, and business torts. Mr. Olsen was also employed as a Deputy Sheriff for the Harris County Sheriff’s Department in Houston, Texas. Mr. Olsen served the citizens of Harris County as a patrolman, accident investigator, and inspector. His law enforcement experience and perspective as a trial attorney continue to serve his clients on a daily basis.
Alison Anderson, SuccessionMatching.com – Alison Anderson is the CEO of SuccessionMatching, an online platform that matches businesses looking to sell and people looking at buying businesses. She has worked with thousands of business owners on their business transition process and is a celebrated international speaker. In 2013, CBC Saskatchewan named her one of the Top 40 under 40 shaping the future of the province. CBC Saskatchewan “Alison has done more for business in the province before the age of 25 than most people do in their whole careers.”
Michael Pope, Impact Training & Development – Michael has over 30 years of corporate management and supervisory experience. He is a certified executive coach and expert Ropes Course Facilitator. Michael’s expertise is in the fields of management, supervisor, and team coaching. Over the last 22 years, Michael has assisted in the transformation of teams, managers and supervisors in many prestigious companies such as ExxonMobil, Memorial Hermann Hospital System, Huntsman Chemical, Clear Channel Communications, Chase Bank, Center Point Energy, and Shell Oil. He has conducted international programs in Canada, Venezuela, Russia, and Mexico. Michael served five years on the Board of Directors for the Houston Chapter of the American Society of Training & Development including President in 2005.
Dennis Murphree, CEO: The Southern Funds Group; The Murphree Company – Dennis E. Murphree is the CEO of The Southern Funds Group (SFG) which manages a diverse group of investment funds throughout the South. He is also the Managing General Partner of Murphree Venture Partners, a series of growth-equity venture capital funds, which are now part of SFG. Founded in 1987, his fund-management firm is headquartered in Houston and has an additional office in Birmingham, Alabama. This multi-office approach allows the partners to work closely with their portfolio companies to build viable business enterprises. Dennis has helped start, buy and grow 109 companies in the course of his career. He is also the CEO of the 2013 re-start of his old real estate development firm, The Murphree Company, which builds Class A multi-story office and multi-use buildings.
